One of my goals this weekend is to get back on track with this blog for you. So much has happened over the past few weeks and I need to fill you in!
Your father and I had an incredible experience at our growth ultrasound appointment about three weeks ago. We got to see you in 3D!! I had wondered for weeks who you would look like, whose traits you would take on. Would you have your Daddy's eyes or my smile? You were incredibly insistent on keeping your hand in your face during the ultrasound, in fact I am pretty sure you were sucking your tiny thumb! Although we didn't get a good view of your precious little mouth we did get to take a peek at your eyes and your forehead and the top of your nose. My goodness you look like your Daddy! That is absolutely fine with me because I think he is the most handsome man in this world and I know you will be just as handsome.
Your grandmother (we still have not decided what you will be calling her, but it will be something fun and fresh to suite her young and hip ways...I like the sound of MiMi) bought you your very first bed. A beautiful wooden crib that fits in your room just perfectly. The soft lines of the sleigh bed style are not only fancy but they will be safe for you when you get bigger and try to escape! I find myself wondering into your room often to stand by the crib and imagine the days when you will be sleeping soundly so comfy and sweet.
Uncle Bart threw you your first baby shower on the farm! My goodness what an awesome day that was. It was an afternoon full of love from family and friends. The sun shined brightly in honor of you! We played fun games to prepare us for the days when you will finally be here with us. Everyone who was there laughed and smiled so much all day. We were showered with sooo many beautiful gifts for you and I just cannot wait to put them all to good use. I will fill you in on more details about your baby shower through all of the amazing photos that we got from the day, but I am going to save that for a post of its own.
We learned that you are not a big fan of chili or P.F. Changs and you will not hesitate to send it right back where it came from. Mama got very very sick after trying out these foods. Luckily it didn't last long and I learned my lesson. Don't worry little guy we will stay away from that stuff until you are old enough to decide that you want to try it again.
I continue to feel you kick and swim around in my belly throughout each day and night and there truly is no better feeling. I wouldn't trade that constant reminder of YOU for anything in this world. There is something extremely comforting about knowing that wherever I go you go. That you are safe and content growing in my tummy. That you share my experiences and get to listen to my voice as I speak and sing. As much as I love carrying you around in my womb, I just cannot wait to meet you. I am positive I will continue to hold you and carry you around as much as humanly possible, just on the outside. I can't wait to look into your eyes and fall into a deeper love than I have ever felt before. Over the past 31 weeks you have changed my life in incredible ways and I know that you will continue to assist me in my growth and transition into the best mother I can possibly be. I love you so much Baby Jones. You are my heart and I cannot wait to teach you all about this beautiful life.
I'll love you forever,
Mom :)
